New GetMura website launched - just in time for Christmas!

After lots of planning and even more work, we've launched the new website. The new website does a much better job of showcasing Mura CMS, and provides better information about Mura and its capabilities.

We've streamlined the site's architecture significantly - we've removed redundant and/or outdated information, and added lots of new content to better show off what you can do with Mura CMS. We've also (finally!) added a full mobile version of the site, using the default mobile capabilities of Mura CMS.

Forum Changes

We're moving away from the forum as a place for providing community support and are instead encouraging people to use our Mura CMS Google Group as the default choice for community support. The forum was great when we first launched the GetMura site, but the mailing list aspect of the Google Group generates much more participation, and we think it's the best vehicle for encouraging an active community for Mura CMS questions and answers. There's still good info (along with some outdated info) in the forum, so we'll maintain it as a read-only resource for the foreseeable future - you can get to it at

Marketplace Changes

We've dropped the "Marketplace" label, and we're now providing all open-source themes and plugins in the Downloads section of the new GetMura site. We're showcasing the top plugins on, and encouraging people to look in GitHub for a more complete list of Mura CMS plugins. For themes, we're providing links to download our core CSS framework (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.) based themes, and we're working with ThemeForest to add many more commercial themes.

Documentation Changes

All the content from the Mura CMS books is now available online in the section of the new site. The books will remain available for sale (there's really no substitute for an actual, physical book), but if you don't want to purchase a book, you can now access all the same great content.

We're really excited about the new site, as we feel that it's a much better platform for improving Mura CMS's positioning and growth. We hope you feel the same - let us know your thoughts (and any issues you might find!).

Mura 6.1

Now that we have the new launched, our focus will pivot to putting the final touches on Mura 6.1. If you haven't had a chance to check out the public preview, we'd encourage you to do so, as the list of features and changes is quite extensive (and impressive -  if we do say so ourselves). We're currently planning on an official release the week of January 6th, 2014. Stay tuned!

Congrats on the new site!

Congrats on a great looking new site and very sensible changes regarding the forum & plugin distribution choices. We're excited to be working with Mura 6.1 with the new features and integrations (Foundation being a much appreciated one of them!) in 2014! Happy New Year & all the best! Cool new site. I support the idea of retiring the forum and using the other methods of community support. I'm glad you left the archive. However, I do not see the old page for SEARCHING the archive. Can this be added back or can you point me to it? The archive is not very usable without it.
