Frequently Asked Questions
Review and Approval
What happens when I submit an application (plugin or theme) to the store?
We will review it within 5 business days, and get back to you with either an approval notice, or information about why we didn't approve it. If there's a technical problem, we'll provide you with the steps we took to create the issue. (However, we are not going to provide one-on-one debugging of your problem; it is your sole responsibility to fix your issues.) You can re-submit your application once you've made the necessary adjustments, and we'll restart the review cycle again.
Once your application is approved, we'll make it publicly viewable and accessible in the Marketplace.
Other than technical problems, what can cause my application to be rejected from the Marketplace?
We will reject applications if they:
- Contain malware or might introduce security vulnerabilities
- Infringe on another party's intellectual property rights
- Are pornographic in nature
- Violate a user's privacy
- Might cause significant performance problems
- Are (in our opinion) without significant value (we don't want the equivalent of iFart apps)
Licensing
What License can I use for my Marketplace software?
You are free to use any license you want. Mura CMS is provided under the GPL v2, but with a very important exception for Plugins and Themes. This means that your Plugins and Themes do not need to be GPL unless you choose (unlike if you were building Drupal or Wordpress Plugins or Themes - those must be provided only as GPL), and that you are free to choose the license that suits you best.
Money Matters
How much will I get?
You will recieve 70% of each sale of your plugin or theme, minus any refunds given to customers. So if you charge $100 for your plugin, and you sell 3 plugins during a month, you'll get $210 for that month. (3 sales at $70 dollars each).
When will I get paid?
Blue River will initiate payment to you within 30 days after the end of each calendar month. So for sales made in Sept, Blue River will initiate payment to you on or before October 30th.
Blue River will initiate payment to you via PayPal (you would receive your payment fairly instantaneously once we initiate the payment process), or by sending you a check (this may add a few days, depending on how long it takes the mail to get to you).
How do refunds work?
If a paying customer requests a refund from the Marketplace for their purchase, Blue River will review their request, and will grant or deny a refund based on our appraisal of their complaint. Blue River may contact the developer for additional information during this process. All decisions regarding refunds will be solely made by Blue River, and there will be no process for dispute or appeal. Having said that, we're reasonable people, and will always strive to the right and fair thing for all parties involved in a refund complaint.
Refunds that are granted to a client will count against the sales total for a developer. So if a developer sells 3 plugins during a month, but 1 refund was granted to a customer during that month, the developer will receive payment for 2 plugins for that month.
