Marketing technology seems to be the #1 topic lately for my writing, speaking and Twitter-chatting, and I even have a few podcasts coming next month on the subject.
Nearly five years ago, Gartner predicted CMOs would catch up to CIOs in total technology spend this year, and we are on track to do so. But I’ve noticed that while marketers are being charged with making technology decisions, we often lack the experience in evaluating technology and driving implementations, which can cause marketing technology implementations to fail. I’ll continue to write and speak more about this topic over the next several months. Meanwhile, here’s an infographic with a quick checklist of the top questions to ask before buying any marketing technology.
Last week I conducted a Twitter chat with the Content Marketing Institute community to discuss tips on surviving any marketing technology implementation. You can check out the full Storify of the conversation within the Content Marketing Institute community here. There are lots of great tips in this chat conversation from peers throughout the community.
